'Blue & Lonesome' is the Stones' first studio release since 2005's 'A
Bigger Bang', which also went to No.1 in 2005 selling around 2,5 million
copies to date.
'The Hamilton Mixtape', an album which featured assorted songs from the
2015 Broadway musical 'Hamilton', debuts at No. 2 with 176,000 sales,
169,000 of which in the United States.
'Hardwired...To Self-Destruct', Metallica's new album and the most
successful LP of this year's holiday season, ranks at no.3 after selling
another 148,000 sales, and a total of 1,040,000 in just three weeks.

Global Track Chart for 7 weeks. Last week it sipped from No. 2 to No. 3,
but this
week "Starboy" shoots to No.1, thanks to the massive first week sales
of the 'Starboy' Album. It's the second No. 1 smash for the Canadian
R&B Superstar, after "Can't Feel My Face" topped the chart for 3 weeks
in August 2015. And for the French-House legend, Daft Punk, it's the
third no.1 global smash, after 'Get Lucky' in 2013 with top producer
Pharrell Williams and "Stronger" in 2007 with US rapper Kanye West.

The song reached number one in Canada, Denmark, France, New Zealand,
Norway, Mexico and Sweden, while also going top ten in various
countries, including Australia, and the United Kingdom. In the United
States, "Starboy" peaked at number 2, behind The Chainsmokers' "Closer"
for five weeks and Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles" for an additional week
on the Billboard Hot 100. The single opened at number 22 on the Digital
Songs chart with 28,000 downloads, and opened at number 37, following
its first week of airplay on the Radio Songs chart, equating to about 36
million plays in total. The song also became Daft Punk's second top 40
entry. The following week, "Starboy" jumped 37 positions to reach number
three, becoming The Weeknd's fifth top 10 single and Daft Punk's second.
It has so far peaked at number two. It sold 88,000 copies in its second
week, and 92,000 in its third week. As of December 2, 2016, it has sold
741,000 copies in the US!
In New Zealand, the single debuted at number five, which was followed by
two consecutive weeks at number 2 before moving to number one on the
chart for the week of October 24, 2016. This marks The Weeknd's second
number one single, as well as Daft Punk's first number one single in the
country.
Meanwhile on the year end chart, "Can't Stop The Feeling!" by Justin
Timberlake finally overtakes Drake.

Canadian R & B Superstar, The Weekend, rockets to No.1 after selling
325,000 copies of 'Starboy' in its 1st week. 'Starboy' debuted at
number one in America on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 209,500
copies in its first week. It also debuted at number one on Billboard's
Canadian Albums Chart selling 43,000 copies and sold another 20,100 in
the UK where it debuted at No. 5 on the Official Chart!
After the commercial success of his last album 'Beauty Behind the
Madness' in 2015, which sold 449,000 copies its 1st week and a total
of 2,317,000 so far, The Weeknd hinted at the release of his third
studio album on March 12, 2016, with his Instagram calling it the next
"chapter" to his music. On August 24, 2016, The Weeknd was confirmed
by the Republic Records Executive Vice President, Wendy Goldstein, to
be collaborating with the French electronic dance duo Daft Punk,
during an interview with Billboard. On September 7, 2016, the album
was confirmed to be in production from an interview with VMAN, with
influence taken from Prince, The Smiths, Talking Heads and Bad Brains.
On September 21, 2016, the album and its title was officially
announced, and it was released on November 25, 2016, by XO and
Republic Records. The album also features guest appearances by Lana
Del Rey, Future, and Kendrick Lamar. The album was supported by three
singles: "Starboy" and "I Feel It Coming" both featuring Daft Punk and
"Party Monster".
Last week's chart-topper, Metallica's 'Hardwired... To Self-Destruct'
is No.2 after selling another 218,000 units for a total of 892,000!
The 2nd new-entry on this week's Top 10 is 'Ningen Kaika', the 8th
album by Japanese rock RADWIMPS, selling 217,000 physical and digital
copies in its first week at retail, according to Oricon.
'Christmas' by Michael Bublé, which was released in 2011, is back in
the Top 10 at No. 8 after selling another 70,000 copies and a total of
10,578,000! It's the 3rd best selling album of the decade, behind
Adele's '21' and '25'!
Legendary band Metallica's'Hardwired... To Self-Destruct', their 10th
studio album, found 674,000 buyers globally in its first week at retail,
shifting 281,600 in the United States (according to Nielsen Music),
nearly 100,000 in Germany (according to GfK), 55,000 in the UK
(according to the Official Charts), 49,000 in Canada (according to
Nielsen Music), 40,400 in France (according to SNEP), 26,400 in
Australia (according to ARIA), 25,900 in Japan (according to Oricon),
and 9,000 in Italy (according to FIMI). 'Hardwired...To Self-Destruct'
is Metallica's first studio album since eight years. 'Death Magnetic'
started also easily at the top position with 815,000 sales in the week
39, 2008. Metallica gained cult status with their self-titled set, known
as the 'Black Album'. Released in 1991, it sold around 25 million copies
to date, the most successful metal album in music history and a
milestone!
Behind 'Hardwired' bows Bruno Mars' third effort '24k Magic' with sales
of 368,000 copies, 194,400 of it in the United States alone. His former
studio set 'Unorthodox Jukebox', released in December 2012, has sold
around 6,5 million units to date.
At No. 3 is Japanese boy group Sexy Zone with their first compilation
'5th Anniversary Best' after selling 151,000 copies, according to
Oricon.
