Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" reigns for a fifth consecutive week on the World's Best Singles chart with 'Shake It Off' close behind at no.2. Taylor Swift's second single "Welcome To New York" off her best-selling Album 1989 makes the second highest debut on the chart this week at no.21.

 

At no.18 is the highest debut, "Happen Ending" by the South Korean hip-hop group Epik High.

 

Irish Singer Hozier's "Take Me To Church" has the highest sales bump rising from no.30 to no.8. Pharrell Williams' "Happy" is at no.40 and has now gone seven time platinum tying with Elton John's "Candle In The Wind" released in 1997.

As expected, the very popular Japanese five-member idol-goup Arashi storms atop the Global Album Chart this week with their 13th studio album 'The Digitalian'. The LP sold 660.200 copies in its first week at retail, according to Oricon. Exactly one year ago Arashi's former album 'Love' opened also atop with nearly the same sales (670.000). At the end of 2013 it was the best-selling album in Japan of that year with a total of 797.000 copies. At no.2 is the controversial American nu-metal band Slipknot with their new set '.5: The Gray Chapter' having sold 251.000 copies this first week, 131.800 of it in the USA, 30.700 in the United Kingdom, 15.000 copies in both Canada and Germany, 14.200 in Australia, 8.600 in Japan, and 5.900 in France.

 

Singer / songwriter legend Neil Diamond debuts this week with his new Album 'Melody Road' at no.3 after selling 128.000 copies. Neil's first album 'The Feel Of Neil Diamond' was released 48 years ago in 1966 and reached no.137 in the USA. In the seventies he had many big worldwide hits, including 'Sweet Caroline', 'Cracklin' Rose', 'I Am... I Said', 'Song Sung Blue' and 'Longfellow Serenade'.


Taylor Swift's new album '1989' will most definitely be the top selling Allbum next week. Industry sources foresee sales of 1,3 million copies in the USA alone!


'Farbenspiel' by Helene Fischer sold 12.000 copies last week and reaches a total of 1.505.000 so far, 'GIRL' by Pharrell Williams sold also 12.000 units last week, with 1.797.000 copies so far, 'AM' by Arctic Monkey sold 9.000 units last week and has a total of 2.106.000 units so far, 'Night Visions' by Imagine Dragons sold 4.098.000 copies so far, 'Midnight Memories' by One Direction 4.181.000, and 'Marshall Mathers LP 2' by Eminem 4.263.000.

Meghan Trainor has the World's No.1 Single for a fourth consecutive week with Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off' even closer behind, at no.2 for the fourth week. Her second Single 'Out Of The Woods', debuts at no.6. Kanjani 8's 'Ittajyanaika' is this week's highest debut at no.5 in the World Charts and no.1 in Japan's Oricon charts.

 

Pharrell's super-smash 'Happy' slips to no.39 in its 45th week but rises to no.7 on the all time chart. Nick Jonas' 'Jealous' debuts at no.55 on the Worlds top 100 Singles.

American country duo Florida Georgia Line have the World's no.1 Album this week with their second studio album 'Anything Goes' and sales of  213.000 in its first week (197.100 in the USA and 16.000 in Canada). U2's 'Songs of Innocence' is close behind debuting with sales of 195.000. You+Me, Pink's collaboration with City And Colour, is at no.3 after shifting 117.000 copies. Last week's leader, Jason Aldean's 'Old Boots, New Dirt', slips to no.4 after a 67% sales decline to 97.000. German rapper Shindy's 2nd album with 'FvckB!tche$GetmoneY' opens with 88.000 sales from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.


Michael Jackson's 'Xscape' has sold 8.000 copies this past week with a total of 1.478.000 so far; 'Ultraviolence' by Lana Del Rey sold 13.000 units last week, 1.110.000 so far; 'Pure Heroine' by Lorde sold 9.000 units last week and has a total of 2.776.000 units so far; 'Wanted On Voyage' by George Ezra has sold 418.000 copies in total;, 'Popular Problems' by Leonard Cohen sold 299.000 and 'Cheek To Cheek' by Tony Bennett & Lady GaGa 426.000 globally.

'All About That Bass' by Meghan Trainor is No.1 for a 3d consecutive week on the World's best-selling Singles chart. Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off' is still at no.2. Next week 'Out Of The Woods', the second Single from her eargerly awaited new album '1989', will make a deep impact on the charts. Back to this week's hitlist, behind 'Shake It Off' is the highest debut, 'Nandome No Aozora Ka?' by the Japanese female idol group Nogizaka 46, billed as the 'official rival' of AKB 48.

 

Another two new-entries follow, 'The Days' by Swedish DJ and producer Avicii opens at no.30  and 'Zipangu Ookini Daisakusen' by the Japanese boy band Johnny West goes to no.40 with 72.000 points. Outside the Top 40 waiting among other Akdong Musician's 'Time And Fallen Leaves' at no.41, Florida Georgia Line's 'Sippin' On Fire' at no.45, Nick Jonas' 'Jealous' at no.49, and Australian Group Sheppard's 'Geronimo' at no.53 for their first appearance on the chart.
