Stop the world right now#ShakiraIsBack! Colombian super star singer Shakira marked a date for her highly-awaited return to the music scene. After several delays finally it’s here! The new single was released on digital retailers on January 13, 2014. It’s officially called “Can’t Remember to Forget You“, and it has the guest vocals of Barbadian pop starRihanna. This is too much!

The song was co-written by Shakira and Rihanna with the collaboration of John Hill, Tom Hull, Daniel Alexander and Swedish singer-songwriter Erik Hassle, known by his European smash single ‘Hurtful‘, released in 2008.  The official video was recorded between 6 and 8 of December. Shakira confirmed that the video was directed by Joseph Kahn on Twitter.

The track seems to be influenced by the Jamaican Rocksteady meets Ska, used on No Doubt’s latest studio album “Push and Shove“, released in 2012. Shakira moves away from the more commercial pop dance sound, and returns betting on a pop rock style, something closer to her beginnings in the music world.

Among the confirmed songs for the new album are: ”Truth or Dare” [commonly "I Dare You (On the Dancefloor)"] a powerful dance-track produced by Dutch record producer Afrojack whose music video directed by Anthony Mandler, produced by Heather Heller and edited by Jeff Selis. It was filmed in Lisbon (Portugal) on June 29, 2012 through Black Hand Cinema and Live Nation Entertainment. The song was written by Raelene Arreguin, John J Conte Jr. and Jay Singh (BMI).

On the other hand, the other track is entitled “Beautiful Disaster” and was also written by Raelene Argurin, John J Conte Jr. and Singh Jay (BMI). The tracks are scheduled to be included on Shakira’s eighth studio album of her career, still untitled, will be released digitally in the first quarter of 2014 via Roc Nation and Sony Music Latin. The singer has been working with Afrojack, RedOne, Fernando Garibay, Ester Dean, Benny Blanco, Ne-Yo and Akon. Between officially recorded songs is one titled “Zodiac Lover“.

U2 won big at the 71st Golden Globe Awards this year, taking home the Best Original Song trophy for "Ordinary Love," their first new song in three years, written in honor of the late Nelson Mandela and featured in the Idris Elba-starring biopic Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

"This really is personal for us," Bono said during the band's acceptance speech. "This man turned our life upside down, right-side up, a man who refused to hate, not because he didn't have rage or anger or these things, but that he thought love would do a better job. We wrote a love song because it kind of is what is extraordinary about the film — it is kind of a dysfunctional love story. That's why you should see this film. You know about the global statesman, you don't know about the man, that's why you should see this film. We're good at the dysfunctional love stories."

U2, who have a new album expected to drop in April, beat out Justin Timberlake's Inside Llewyn Davis contribution "Please Mr. Kennedy," Coldplay's "Atlas" from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, "Let It Go" from the animated Disney flick Frozen (sung by actress Idina Menzel), and Taylor Swift's "Sweeter Than Fiction" from One Chance.

U2 are also potential Oscar nominees, after being included in the not-so-short list for Best Original Song. Nominees for the 86th Annual Academy Awards will be announced on January 16.

Other notable wins at the Golden Globes: 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto earned the Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture award for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros leader Alex Ebert took home Best Original Score for his work on the film All Is Lost.

Singer/actor Rain, a pioneer of the "Hallyu Wave" (aka Korean Wave), has just released his much awaited sixth full-length album "Rain Effect," proving to fans and critics he hasn't missed a beat during his four-year absence from recording having spent two years at military service.

Despite his much publicized relationship with superstar actress Kim Tae Hee, as well as public backlash after being investigated for violating service regulations (which was later dismissed), Rain re-solidifies his position in the K-pop firmament with this latest offering.

"Rain Effect," released under Cube Entertainment (Beast, 4Minute, G.NA), dropped Jan. 2 along with accompanying music videos for double lead singles "30Sexy" and "La Song."

"30Sexy" is an electrifying dance sound charged with knocking hip-hop drumbeats and sticky synths, in which Rain dares to seduce all women being 30 and sexy. In the music video, the singer is slickly dressed, exuding his tantalizing charisma while flashing hip-thrusting action.
