The American jazz singer, entertainer and 17-time Grammy Award winner Tony Bennett shoots atop the Global Album Chart with his new effort 'Cheek To Cheek', a duet-album with Lady GaGa. With unbelievable 88 years Tony Bennett is now the oldest artist at the number one spot ever!! 'Cheek To Cheek' found 202.000 buyers globally in its initial week, 130.500 of it in the USA, 11.400 in Japan, and 10.500 in United Kingdom. 'Cheek To Cheek' overtakes several high-class releases of the week, included the new set by music legend, poet, and novelist Leonard Cohen ('Popular Problems' at no.5 with 123.000 sales), rock icon Lenny Kravitz ('Strut' at no.6 with 86.000 sales), the fantastic British indie band Alt-J ('This Is All Yours' at no.3 with 159.000 sales), British DJ and Electronica-star Aphex Twin ('Syro' at no.8 with 68.000 sales), and American blues rock musician Joe Bonamassa ('Different Blue Of Shades' at no.9 with also 68.000 sales). Last week's chart-topper, Barbra Steisand's 36th album 'Partners', lands at no.2 now, after a 29% sales decline to 199.000, a total of 480.000 units in only two weeks. Some additional sales stats: '1000 Forms Of Fear' by Sia sold 19.000 copies last week and reaches a total of 358.000 so far, 'AM' by Arctic Monkeys sold 12.000 units last week, 2,07 million so far, 'GIRL' by Pharrell Williams sold 14.000 units last week and has a total of 1,75 million units so far, 'If You Wait' by London Grammar sold 950.000 so far, 'Love In The Future'' John Legend 1,12 million and 'Prism' by Katy Perry 3,28 million.
