Barbra Streisand's magnificent new album 'Partners' climbs back to world's no.1 this week!

Despite a 36% sales decrease to 127.000 copies, Barbra Streisand's magnificent new album 'Partners' climbs back to the hot seat of the Global Album Chart. The highest sales achieved the album last week in the USA (72.900), United Kingdom (19.700), Australia (7.800), and Canada (5.000). In its three weeks since the release, the effort sold a total of 607.000 units. Last week's no.1 album, 'Cheek To Cheek' by Tony Bennett & Lady GaGa slides at no.4 with 101.000 copies, halved the sales compared to the initial week. There are 14 debuts on this week's Top 40 list, highest comes from American country icon Blake Shelton. His ninth studio album 'Bringing Back The Sunshine' bows at no.2 globally, after first week sales of 100.500 in the USA, 7.700 in Canada and 700 in Australia. Another big country act, Lady Antebellum, arrives at no.5 with their fifth album '747' and 82.000 sales. Prince, the legendary singer / songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and one of the biggest stars of the Eighties, returns with two simultaneous released albums. 'Art Official Age' jumps at no.3 with 108.000 sales and 'Plectrum Electrum' goes to no.10 with 63.000 sales. Prince's biggest success was the soundtrack 'Purple Rain', which sold massive 21 million copies to date. Exactly 30 years ago the album was the 12th of massive 24 consecutive weeks at no.1 of the Billboard Album Chart! At the same week the title song entered the Global Top 10 at no.8 and reached no.3 some weeks later. Some additional sales stats: 'The Hunting Party' by Linkin Park sold 12.000 copies last week and reaches a total of 825.000 so far, 'Racine Carrée' by Stromae sold 10.000 units last week, 2,53 million so far, 'Farbenspiel' by Helene Fischer sold 14.000 units last week and has a total of 1,46 million units so far, 'Midnight Memories' by One Direction sold 4,16 million so far, 'Night Visions' by Imagine Dragons 4,07 million and 'Born To Die' by Lana Del Rey 4,93 million.
