Japan's AKB 48 debuts at No1 in the World's best-selling Albums

Japan's AKB 48 debuts at N°1 in the World's best-selling Albums chart with "Tsugi No Ashiato" and huge sales of 961.531 copies according to Oricon. AKB 48's last album '1830m' sold 870.621 copies in its first week. The soundtrack to the Walt Disney's motion picture "Frozen" returns to N°2 with 135.000 copies and last week's N°1, Bruce Springsteen's "High Hopes", slips to N°3 with sales of 131.000.

 

Beyoncé's album "Beyoncé" slips to N°4 with sales of 113.000 and a total of 2,52 million sales after just seven weeks on the charts.

 

Lorde closes the top 5 Albums at N°5 with "Pure Heroine."

 

New entries include Californian Group Warpaint, who debuts at N°24 with their self-titled album and 29.000 copies sold. Scottish band Mogwai debut at N°28 with "Rave Tapes" and 27.000 sales. Re total Album sales so far, "Recharged" by Linkin Park has sold 300.000 copies, "Halcyon" by Ellie Goulding 332.000 copies, "Night Visions" by Imagine Dragons 2,99 million copies, "The Heist'" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis 2,34 million copies, "All The Little Lights" by Passenger 1,48 million copies and "AM" by the Arctic Monkeys 1,26 million copies.
