Kendrick Lamar's 'To Pimp A Butterfly' is the World's best-selling Album this week

'To Pimp A Butterfly' is Kendrick Lamar's third studio album and first global no.1 after selling 415.000 copies this first week, 324.400 of those units were sold in America, 26.000 in the United Kingdom and 25.000 in Canada. The 27 year old Rapper's former album 'Good Kid M.a.a.d. City' debuted at no.2 the last week of October 2012, selling 266.000 its first week, blocked only by Taylor Swift's 'Red' album, which sold a massive 1.459.000 copies. Taylor Swift's '1989' is the best selling Album of the first quarter of 2015 and has shifted 2.133.000 copies.  Ed Sheeran's 'X' has dsold 1.796.000 copies so far and Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour' has  sales of 1.643.000.

 

At no.2 in this week's global chart is British guitarist Mark Knopfler's  'Tracker'. The Album has sold 156.000 buyers in its first week, with 40,000 units sold in Germany, 35.000 copies in the USA and 20.500 in the UK.


At no.3 this week is Madonna's 'Rebel Heart', with sales of 103.000.
