'25' sells 1,793,000 copies in its 3rd week and breaks another World record, surpassing the 10 Million Mark in just 22 days!
Adele's '25' has sold another 1,793,000 copies globally in its 3rd week, bringing the grand total to 9,835,000! But just one day after the accounting period of the 3rd week of World Alum sales closed, the album surpassed the 10 million mark which is a new historic world record! No other Album has sold 10 Million copies in just 22 days. It’s only the second album in this decade, which breaks the 10 million border. The first was Adele's '21' from 2011. On December 12, Michael Bublé's 'Christmas' also reached the 10 million mark, making it the most successful Xmas LP of the 21st century!
This week's highest debut on the global chart is Coldplay's 'A Head Full Of Dreams'. The band's seventh studio Album debuts at no.2 selling 827,000 copies with 194,500 of them in the United States, 236,000 in United Kingdom, around 90,000 in Germany, 51,400 in France, 33,000 in Canada, 29,000 in Italy, 20,100 in Australia, and 13,000 in Japan. Coldplay's former album 'Ghost Stories' debuted with 1,023,000 units in the week 23, 2014, and shifted nearly 3,5 million so far.
Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' is third on the hot list after selling another 310,000 copies and a grand total of 1,848,000 after just four weeks.
Noone can remove Adele from the top of the World Singles chart after 7 whole weeks. The Single was released on 23 October as the lead single from her top selling Album '25'. Adele co-wrote "Hello" with her producer, Greg Kurstin. "Hello" is a piano ballad with soul influences, and lyrics that discuss themes of nostalgia and regret. Upon release, the song received acclaim from music critics, who compared it favourably to Adele's previous work and praised the song's lyrics and Adele's vocals.
"Hello" has reached number one in 28 countries including the United Kingdom, where it became her second UK number-one single, following "Someone like You", and had the largest opening week sales in three years. In the United States, "Hello" debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, and remains for a 7th week! It is Adele's fourth number-one on the chart and broke several records, including becoming the first song with over a million digital sales in a week.
The accompanying music video was directed by Xavier Dolan and co-stars Adele and Tristan Wilds. The music video for the song broke the Vevo Record by achieving over 27.7 million views within a 24-hour span, held previously by Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" which accumulated 20.1 million views in that timeframe. It also broke the record for shortest time to attain 100 million Vevo views, previously held by Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball".
Adele's 'Hello' remains at the top of the Global Track Chart for a sixth consecutive week.
Justin Bieber is no.2 - no.4 for a third week! Never before since the Beatles has an act stayed for as long a time in the top five with three songs simultaneously! 'Sorry' sits tight at Number two, 'Love Yourself' hangs in at No.3 and 'What Do You Mean?'remains at No.4.
Drake's 'Hotline Bling' rounds out the top five.
Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' is back! The Xmas classic from 1994 appears on the global track chart for an 11th non-consecutive year, re-entering at no.30.
'25' in the second week on retail has sold another 2,336,000 copies. In total Adele's album moved more than 8 million copies in just two weeks! In the United States '25' had sales of 1,112,200 according to Nielsen Music! in the United Kingdom the Album sold another 439,300 copies according to the Official Charts. In Japan, Oricon confirmed sales of 11,000. In Germany it sold nearly 110,000 (GfK). In France 129,200 (SNEP), in Canada 145,000 (Nielsen Music), and in Australia 65,700 (ARIA). '25' sold almost as much as all the other albums of the top 40 put together!! Adele's second-week sales are higher than any other Artist's weekly sales in this Millennium! Also Adele's former albums are back selling on the Global Albums chart with '21' ranking at no.10 this week with sales of 70,000, and '19' at no.25 with sales of 38,000 globally.
At No.2 is Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' with sales of 311,000, bringing his total Album sales to 1,538,000 after just three weeks on the chart. His biggest sales were in the United States (130,200) and in United Kingdom (82,900).
One Direction's 'Made In The A.M.' is at No.3 with sales of 160,000.
German Superstar Helene Fischer is at No.4 with her christmas set 'Weihnachten' after selling 121,000 copies. The album is a huge seller in the German-speaking territories. It's the best selling Xmas album globally for a third week in a row. Pentatonix 'That's Christmas To Me' moved up from No.12 to No.7 with sales of 93,000 and Michael Bublé's 'Christmas' shoots from No.21 to No.9 after selling 75,000 copies. Since its release in October 2011, the Album has sold a massive 9,844,000 units, the second best-selling album of the deacde so far and the best-selling Xmas album of the 21st century!
'Hello' stays atop the list for a fifth consecutive week, after continuing to sell massively around the world. Thanks to the Release of her new album '25, another four songs enter the chart, 'When Were We Young' debuts at no.8 this week, Adele's sixth Global Top 10 success. 'Water Under The Bridge' goes to no.32, 'Send My Love (To Your New Lover)' reaches no.38 and 'Remedy' enters at no.40.
The other big star of the global chart is Justin Bieber, who blocks the no.2 - no.4 for a second week, 'Sorry' is still at no.2, 'Love Yourself' remains at no.3 and the former chart topper 'What Do You Mean?' follows at no.4.
