The pop / new wave / R&B band Dreams Come True released their seventh compilation, 'The Best! Watashi No Dorikamu' found 344.000 buyers in its initial week, according to Oricon. It's the only album this week with more than 100.000 sales globally. On the vice-position arrive the British newcomer Years & Years. Driven by the hits 'King' (was no.18 in May) and 'Shine' (this week new at no.35), their debut album 'Communion' moves at no.2 with 92.000 sales. On the next place follows Tyrese Darnell Gibson. The Grammy-nominated R&B singer is also songwriter, actor, author, television producer, fashion model and MTV VJ... an allround-talent. He's seventh studio album 'Black Rose' tops the current US-Billboard Charts with 83.200 pure sales and starts at no.3 globally. Koichi Domoto, one half of Japanese pop duo Kinki Kids, bows at no.4 with his fourth solo studio album 'Spiral' and 71.000 sales, according to Oricon. Fifth highest debut of the week comes from the Berlin based rap band K.I.Z., the new effort 'Hurra Die Welt Geht Unter' is their first no.1 in Germany and Switzerland. On the global hitlist it placed at no.6 with 63.000 sales. Three all-time classics re-enter the Top 40. Fleetwood Mac's 'The Very Best Of' compilation from 2002 jumps at no.30 with 20.000 sales. The band's biggest success was the album 'Rumours' from 1977. It sold around 33 million copies to date and holds no.11 on the ALL TIME CHART. Exactly one place behind at no.12 with also nearly 33 million sales so far ranks the legendary 'Legend' album by Bob Marley & The Wailers. From time to time the reggae classic find it way back to the Global Top 40. Last year in the week 38 for example it reached no.11 with 47.000 sales in a lonely week, on the current tally it turns back at no.38 with 16.000 sales. Finally 'Back To Black' by Amy Winehouse is back on the hitlist. Driven by a new documentary about her life, the album jumps at no.36 with another 17.000 sales, a total of 14 million since its release 2007. According to the new IFPI global release day Media Traffic moved the date for the weekly update on Wednesday. Following consultation with artists, musicians unions, record companies and retailers, it was confirmed that the release day for new music will be aligned internationally on a Friday. From this week on the survey period of the official charts from many countries (like USA and United Kingdom) starts with Friday and ends with Thursday. We follow the example. The current hitlist is exceptionally an extended chart week, published on Wednesday 15 and dated to July 18, 2015. Here are the sales period for some key markets: USA, Canada and France 11 days, United Kingdom 12 days, Germany 14 days, Japan 7 days. New no.1 in this extended chart week is Japanese boy band Kis-My-Ft2 with their fourth studio album 'Kis-My-World'. According to Oricon it sold 300.000 copies in its initial week. Exactly one year ago, the band's former album 'Kis-My-Journey' started also atop globally with 246.000 sales. Robert Rahmeek Williams, better known by his stage name Meek Mill, bows at the vice-position with his second album 'Dreams Worth More Than Money'. It found 279.000 buyers in that extended chart week, 258.000 of it in the USA alone. Back at no.1 in United Kingdom and back in the top three globally is Ed Sheeran's mega-seller 'X'. The effort ranks a 54th week on the tally, jumps from no.10 to no.3 this week and sold another 99.000 copies, a total of massive 6,2 million so far. Another huge seller follows shy behind at no.4, Taylor Swift's '1989' climbs three slots and moved another 87.000 copies, 7,7 million totally. Some additional sales stats: 'My Everything' by Ariana Grande sold 9.000 copies last week and reaches a total of 1.590.000 so far, 'Listen' by David Guetta sold 16.000 units last week, 1.078.000 so far, 'Wanted On Voyage' by George Ezra sold 15.000 units last week and has a total of 1.565.000 copies so far, the 'Frozen' soundtrack sold 8.352.000 copies so far, the 'Empire' soundtrack 458.000, and the 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' soundtrack 2.162.000.
Japanese Idol Group Hey! Say! Jump! top the World’s best-selling Album Chart with their fourth studio effort 'Jumping Car'. It sold 177.000 copies in its initial week, according to Oricon.
Hey! Say! JUMP is a nine-member Japanese idol group under the Japanese talent agency Johnny & Associates. The name Hey! Say! refers to the fact that all the members were born in the Heisei and JUMP is an acronym for Johnny's Ultra Music Power.
