One Direction's "Midnight Memories" debuts at No.1 in America this week with 546,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The act makes history as the first group to debut at No. 1with its first three albums. "Midnight Memories" follows two No. 1s for the act in 2012: its debut album, "Up All Night," and sophomore set "Take Me Home."

One Direction's first-week sales have also steadily grown with each successive album.

The act follows the recent successes of Drake, Selena Gomez, Luke Bryan and Vampire Weekend in 2013—all of whose respective albums have debuted with a bigger first week than the one before it.

With the start of "Midnight Memories,” One Direction also becomes only the third pop group to log multiple half-million sales weeks in the Nielsen SoundScan era. Since the company began tracking sales in 1991, only two other pop groups have notched more than one sales week of 500,000: 'N Sync and Backstreet Boys.

'N Sync did it seven times with three different albums, while Backstreet Boys did it nine times with two albums. Other duos/groups and bands have earned numerous 500,000-plus frames, but they were all R&B, rap, country or rock acts. They are: Coldplay, Creed, Dave Matthews Band, Dixie Chicks, Eagles, Guns N' Roses, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Outkast, Rascal Flatts, Santana, the Beatles and Tool.

Last week's No. 1 album, Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," is pushed down to No.2, despite a 65% sales gain. It sold 199,000 for the week.

Coming in at No.3 this week is Garth Brooks' "Blame It All on My Roots." selling 164,000 copies in less than four days on sale, as the album was released on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 28).

One Direction and Brooks are the only two newarrivals in the top 10 this week.

The Robertsons' "Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas" is steady at No. 4 with 137,000 and Katy Perry's "PRISM" rises 11-5 with 136,000.

Kelly Clarkson's "Wrapped in Red" rises 9-6 with 131,000.

Lady Gaga's "ARTPOP" moves up one position to No. 7 with 116,000.

Closing the top 10 is the "Now 48" album, selling 77,000.

David Guetta Shows #love for the Philippines

Posted on November 23, 2013

David Guetta has created a new video "One Voice" to raise awareness and money for Haiyan victims. He'll donate a dollar every time #love is tweeted out. On Friday, November 22nd he met with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, in New York and premiered his new video on the wall of the U.N. Secretariat Building at 8:30 p.m. It was streamed live on both Guetta's Facebook page and the campaign website, where the video will be featured exclusively.

For superstar DJ David Guetta, seeing the destruction that Typhoon Haiyan left in its wake in the Eastern part of the Philippines was just the same as it was for the rest of the world: horrifying. Reports surged of casualties (more than 4,000 dead, by the latest estimate) and aid unable to reach victims. As the shock faded, David's next reaction was, what could he do?

"I wanted to help, but I didn't know how, so I went to the people that do," he says. He has partnered with the United Nations to kick off "The World Needs More ..." campaign to help victims of natural disasters and conflict. Leveraging his fame (891 million page views of his YouTube videos and nearly 1.5 billion on Vevo), Guetta hopes his fans can raise the millions the Philippines will need, not just for relief, but to rebuild.

"Working with the U.N., with the people who really are in charge, has been an inspiring and humbling experience," he says. "I created the video especially for this campaign, and use it to reach out to fans."

For fans to do their part, all they need to do is tweet. Here's how it works: Businesses sponsor a word that the world can use more of, like "compassion" or "awareness," and each time that word is tweeted out with the hashtag or used on the campaign website, that sponsor will donate a dollar.

Guetta has already sponsored #love. To unlock the dollar donation from Guetta, for instance, share a double hashtag #theworldneedsmore# #love either on Twitter or the campaign website. With millions of followers, that hopefully means a lot of money. "I wanted to find a way for people to help using the power of social media and my network," he says. "Life has to continue for everyone, even when a catastrophe happens, but there is a way to help and to better prepare for the next one.

"When I play, people are as one on the dance floor. I want the same for the world. No matter how busy you are or where you are, we all share this planet and help each other. We should be as one."
