'Closer' rises this week to the top of the Global Track Chart, ending the three-week reign of Major Lazer's 'Cold Water' ft. Justin Bieber & Mø, which now replaces Justin Timberlake at no.2.


"Closer" was released on July 29, 2016, and is No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Outside the United States, "Closer" has topped the charts in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the Philippines and the UK, making it both The Chainsmokers' and Halsey's first number-one single in all seven countries!

Major Lazer's Cold Water tops the global track chart for a 3rd week non consecutive week!


'Can't Stop The Feeling' by Justin Timberlake follows at no.2.


American EDM duo The Chainsmokers soar up the chart from no.11 to no.3 with their new smash 'Closer', the highest position for that act so far. Their previous hit 'Don't Let Me Down' peaked at no.5 in July.


This week highest debut is Japanese girlie idol group, Keyakizaka46 ID who debut at no.8 with 'Sekai Niwa Ai Shika Na'.




The Soundtrack to the film 'Suicide Squad' remains at the top of the Global Album Chart for a second week with sales of 87,000, 49,900 of those in the US. Two releases from South Korea are the highest debuts of the week. 'Hades', the seventh extended play set by the boy band VIXX, debuts at no.2 with 51,300 copies sold, according to Hanteo. The other act is the girlie group I.O.I with their second EP 'Whatta Man'. The album enters the global chart at no.5 with sales of 42,000.

'Suicide Squad' shifted 128,300 copies in the USA alone making it th No.1 Album this week in America according to Nielsen Soundscan, and 11,000 copies in Canada. 12,500 copies were sold in the UK according to the Official Charts and 9,300 in Australia according to ARIA.


'Unleashed', the 10th album of the American Christian rock band Skillet, debuts at no.2 globally with sales of 73,000!


Twenty one pilots 'Blurryface' returns to no.3 after selling another 48,000 copies, its highest position since its debut at no.1 in the week 23, 2015. 'Blurryface' has sold 1,637,000 copies in total so far.
