BTS has scored a 2nd week atop the Global Album Chart with their amazing multi million seller 'Map Of The Soul: 7' which has now sold in excess of 5 million units! Last week BTS debuted at #1 on the Global Album Chart after becoming the first Asian group to top the album charts in the top five global music markets including the US, the UK, Japan, Germany, and France! The Album also debuted at #1 in Australia, Austria, Belgium (Flanders), Canada, Estonia, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Scotland, South Korea, Spain and Switzerland. This week the Album is still ranking high on the weekly sales charts internationally. In the US, 'Map Of The Soul:7' is #3 on the Billboard 200 while in the UK, the album is #14 on the Official chart. The Album is #4 on the Oricon chart in Japan and on the official chart in Germany. 'Map Of The Soul: 7' also sits at #14 on the Official Irish Irma chart, and in Belgium the album is #5 in Flanders and #7 in Wallonia. 'Map of the Soul: 7' debuted atop the US Billboard 200 with 422,000 album-equivalent units, including 347,000 pure sales. It is BTS's 4th US number-one album, making them the fastest band since the Beatles to have 4 number one albums in less than 2 years. It is also the highest opening for an album in 2020 so far, and the highest first-week sales of BTS's albums in the US to date! The album's lead single, "On" debuted at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 86,000 downloads and 18.3 million U.S. streams, marking BTS's biggest sales week for a song. It's the group's highest charting single on the chart and their 1st top 5, following "Boy With Luv" ft. Halsey which peaked at #8 and "Fake Love" which peaked at #10, making BTS the Korean Act with the most Top Ten hits on the Hot 100!
In South Korea, the album debuted atop the Gaon Album Chart, giving BTS their 13th number one album and selling over 2.13 million copies in its 1st day and a record-breaking 3.37 million copies in its 1st week, achieving highest first week sales in Hanteo Chart history! BTS broke the record for the highest yearly and monthly album sales ever In Korea after selling over 4.1 million units of 'Map Of The Soul: 7' in just 9 days in February alone after its release on February 21st!
In Japan, the album became the groups 5th number one, selling over 370,000 copies in its first week. It is now the best-selling album in Japan so far In 2020 with sales of 398.148! The album is also #1 on the Oricon Monthly Chart for the month of February 2020. It's BTS's 3rd time topping the monthly album chart, following 'Love Yourself: Her' in September 2017, and 'Face Yourself' in March 2018. 'Map Of The Soul: 7' is #4 this week on the Oricon chart, after selling another 20,296 units! 'Map Of The Soul: 7' was just recently certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for over 250,000 copies sold in the country! In the UK, the album debuted atop the Official Albums Chart, their 2nd consecutive number one after selling around 36,000 units, with 32,000 pure sales. The album debuted atop the German albums chart, making BTS the first Asian group to top the chart. The Album also It debuted at #1 on the Irish Albums Chart, making BTS the 1st Korean artist to score a number one in that country too. The album debuted at number one on Australia's ARIA Albums Chart becoming BTS' fifth top ten entry, and their 2nd consecutive number one following Map of the Soul: Persona. In France, the album debuted at number one on the SNEP Albums Chart, after selling 23,502 equivalent units, the group's first number one in that country.
The Weeknd’s "Blinding LIghts" is #1 on the Global Track Chart for a 3rd consecutive week! It's The Weeknd's third global number one following "Can't Feel My Face" which topped the chart for 3 weeks in August/September 2015 and "Starboy" which held atop the global chart for 4 weeks in December 2016.
